Quantum Pocket II, stoneware and slip, 12 5/8” tall x 1” thick, by Elizabeth Fritsch, 1982.
This image of a deceptively flat “vessel” is from the 2020 book, Ceramics Masterclass by Louisa Taylor. The book includes 100 ceramic artworks by different artists. Each two-page spread has an analysis of the artwork, info on techniques and process, and a short bio. It’s so interesting to read a book that combines art history with practical advice on materials and glaze recipes. For me, it’s a great approach for a book on ceramics.

Quantum Pocket II was also featured (in a much more muted color) on the cover of the catalog Things of Beauty Growing: British Studio Pottery (see catalog at Abebooks)
